Copyright and permission

Make sure the rights are in place.

You must have taken or created the image, own the relevant rights, or have permission from every rights holder to reproduce and adapt it. Buying a print or digital file, receiving an image from a friend, or commissioning a photographer does not necessarily transfer copyright. You are also responsible for relevant privacy, publicity and personality permissions, particularly for private individuals and children.

You retain your rights. You give us a limited permission to process the image, create the preview and print master, manufacture and deliver the order, and resolve order support issues. We will not use your personal image in marketing without separate permission.

Material we will not accept

Keep it lawful and respectful.

Do not submit any images containing sexual abuse, sexual content involving minors, exploitative material or any non-consensual intimate imagery; graphic violence; racist, hateful or terrorist material; content that promotes harm; unlawful material; or content that infringes another person’s copyright, privacy or other rights.

We may pause, refuse or cancel an order if a submitted image appears to breach these standards or the law. Where appropriate we may ask for evidence of permission. Illegal material may be reported where the law requires it.

How checking works

Your private preview stays private.

The design preview runs in your browser. It performs technical file checks but does not secretly upload images for automated visual inspection. The production package is uploaded only when you continue to checkout and give permission. A limited manual review may occur when needed to produce the work, provide support or investigate a suspected standards breach.
